We’ve been exploring Spaces and faced an issue of intermittent slow uploads via s3cmd. Sometimes the speed is up to 10 MB/s and sometimes it’s 100 KB/s. Large files are being broken down into pieces by s3cmd automatically. The DO support has been silent about that for a few days.

Is this the reality of Spaces or something is broken? 3GB was uploading for 6 hours. We need to upload 200 GB.

  • I’m seeing comically slow upload speeds as well with s3cmd over the last two days.

    No responses from DO? I think I’ll be switching to another provider soon.

I am currently not seeing any reported problems with Spaces on the DigitalOcean status page here:

I know the question was originally asked a few months ago, but I’ll leave the link so anyone can check it as future reference.

Can you please share a little bit more information regarding the issue that you are seeing like:

  • Which is the exact location that you’ve created your Space in?

  • Also, what is the exact size of the images that you are uploading?

  • Can you share a screenshot of your web console network tab with the problematic images load time?
