Hi there!
The DigitalOcean Droplets are not free; they are paid virtual private servers.
Billing is hourly, and you only pay for the resources you use (like CPU, RAM, and storage). For example, if you create a $5/month Droplet, you’ll either pay $0.007/hour or the full $5 if it runs all month.
You can check your usage and costs in your DigitalOcean dashboard. 😊
Also you can check the pricing page here:

Hope that this helps!

Heya, @mmandiri
As mentioned the droplets are not free of charge. However, DigitalOcean is providing $100 of free credits to any educator, student, or researcher who wants to explore DigitalOcean products for higher education purposes. Educators and researchers that need more credits to support their projects are invited to apply to Hollie’s Hub for Good, which is committed to giving out $500,000 of free credits to projects that meet its criteria.
For more information on free credits, please read the FAQ at the bottom of this page:

Hope that this helps!
Heya,
Yes, you’ll need to pay for the Droplet you are using once your free credit runs out, if you have any free credit.
Here is how billing works:
