When I try to deploy flask app that uses pyspark. I get issues relating to setting JAVA_Home enviroment variable. How do i install java in the first place?

Are you deploying this to the DigitalOcean App Platform? If so, then you would have to use a Dockerfile to deploy your app as Java is not a supported runtime:

If you are deploying this on a Droplet, you can follow the steps here on how to install Java:
