let's encrypt unable to create http to https redirect

Posted on July 2, 2021

Hi I set up a wordpress site on a digital ocean one click install setup our website then changed the domain name over and when I installed certbot I incorrectly selected “don’t redirect all http traffic to https” thinking it would cause admin issues later, turns out the reverse is now I can’t invert it and can’t get certbot to add the redirect, I get this error when I try:

“Failed redirect for domainname.com Enhancement redirect failed for domainname.com Unable to find corresponding HTTP vhost; Unable to create one as intended addresses conflict; Current configuration does not support automated redirection”

Does anyone know how I could possibly remove the right files so I can run the certbot program to do it automatically, or possibly add the redirect in manually.

Been searching Google for hours and reading stack overflow and all the posts on here to narrow it down.

Thanks so much in advance, any help is much appreciated
