Moving DataCenters

I was just about to buy another VPS and DO has run out of IPs in Hamsterdam (The Wire reference?!?). What are the implications of taking one in New York and then taking one in Amsterdam when IPs are available again? Is it as simple as taking a snapshot of the US server, creating and restoring to Amsterdam one? Then just changing the DNS settings? Does anyone know when they are gonna be available again?

Yes, it's that simple.
any info when will Amsterdam be available again?
They have said on Twitter that they aim to get Amsterdam droplet creations enabled by next week
@PabloofvDevices Thanks. To be clear, there are no issues with using US snapshots for an Amsterdam IP?
No, it should work perfectly fine.
Thanks all. I had a DO server that was gathering dust in Amsterdam so reused that in the end. Good to know that there is no issue with using 'intercontinental' snapshots should the situation arise in the future again though.
