I am trying to install two wordpress websites on one vas or droplet. What is the best method in doing this.

You use virtual hosts. Just add two domains to the DNS section of the control panel and lookup how to properly configure a virtual host for the web server (apache, nginx, etc.) you are using. Feel free to reply if you have further questions.

how do i point to second install of wordpress. I have the first one setup and both dns pointing but the second just shows the same result as first page.

That would be the virtual host, Shawn. If it is pointing to the droplet properly the next step is to create the virtual host (or server block) and then configure the second WordPress installation. What web server (apache, nginx, etc.) is running on your droplet and what Linux distribution (ubuntu, debian, centos, etc.) are you using?

Yes, https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-set-up-apache-virtual-hosts-on-ubuntu-12-04-lts will work if you are using Apache + Ubuntu.

You place the WordPress install in the location that you are pointing the corresponding virtual host's document root.
