Mutli-Zone kubernetes support?

Posted on January 3, 2022

On AWS you have the concept of availability zones and can create a multi-zone kubernetes cluster.

Can you do the same with DOKS?

Hey @TheDukeDk,

As of the time being, DigitalOcean does not have zones (different data centers) in the same region. So multi-zone as a concept does not apply to DigitalOcean in that sense.

In case that you are referring to a multi-region cluster, believe that there is no ETA for this.

But this sounds like an interesting idea, the best thing to do to get your voice heard regarding this would be to head over to our Product Ideas board and post a new idea, including as much information as possible for what you’d like to see implemented.

On another note, would you mind sharing what’s driving this requirement? Is it a compliance requirement, or HA/SLA concern for your application?

Hope that helps! - Bobby.
