Question

My port 25 is blocked.. how to open it? I can't send emails but can receive them. Please help.

[{“address”:“test-0tko6ki9z@srv1.mail-tester.com”,“delay_reason”:“connect to reception.mail-tester.com[94.23.206.89]:25: Connection refused”}]

This is error I’m getting every time I try to send email through Rainloop. I think my port 25 is blocked though I can receive emails as many as I can. Please solve problem as soon as possible.

Thank You.

Hello there,

As mentioned port 25 is blocked on all Droplets for new accounts to prevent spam and other abuses of our platform.

Stopping spam is a constant fight, so we have implemented some restrictions on newer accounts. To qualify for the ability to send out emails, we do require accounts to wait 60 days before we can look into removing the restriction. Once your account has reached 60 days of stable use, please do reach back out to us so we can look into this for you.

You can also use a third-party mail provider like SendGrid in order to avoid issues like this one. I’ll also recommend checking this article:

Hope that this helps!

Hi there,

SMTP port 25 is blocked on all Droplets for new accounts to prevent spam and other abuses of our platform.

Dedicated email deliverability platforms are better at handling deliverability factors like IP reputation. To send mail from DigitalOcean, we recommend using SendGrid:

SendGrid DigitalOcean Marketplace 1-Click App

Even on older accounts where SMTP may be available, we strongly recommend against running your own mail server in favor of using a dedicated email deliverability platform.

If you still need port 25, please reach out to our amazing support team who will be more than happy to assist you! :)

Hope that helps!
