Have you installed the Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) repository? ProFtp isn’t available in the default CentOS repositories. You need to add it first:

sudo rpm -Uvh http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/i386/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm

Check out this tutorial for all the information:

https://digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-set-up-proftpd-on-centos-6
Hi Andrew,
Thank you so much for the response.

1. We followed the tutorial.

2. We have tried to use the rpm you mentioned above and in the tutorial.
But it keeps throwing an error.

Is there a alternative place to download besides:
http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/i386/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm

If so, please advise.

Thanks again!
