No option to choose Amsterdam or San Francisco

I'm new to DO, and when I deployed my first droplet, I was able to deploy to the San Francisco DC, and the Amsterdam DC showed it wasn't available due to demand... Now I can't even see San Francisco or Amsterdam as an option for Data Centers. Is this because they aren't available due to demand and they'll be back soon? Or some other reason? My preference would be to have them greyed out, with an estimated date of when they should be available. That way I'd at least be able to make appropriate plans.

Yeah, nice question. Also waits for Amsterdam.
This post may answer your question partly:
I have been waiting on the Amsterdam data center, but I too also had the SFO option disappear from the control panel. An update from DO, without having to open a support ticket, would be nice.
The thread posted above has no useful information, except it points to yet another thread.
Both regions are currently unavailable due to capacity issues. ETA: a few days for AMS to be re-enabled.
I haven't been able to create a San Francisco droplet since yesterday. I don't see anything about this at
I'm also curious about what's going on with San Francisco?
