Outgoing mail options

Posted on January 22, 2021

I setup Postfix for my outgoing mail server. It worked fine for a few weeks, and then it just stopped. I traced the problem to my IP being added to a blacklist. I contacted customer support, and they frankly told me not to try and setup an email server. They suggested I take a snapshot of my droplet, and get a new IP, but I would likely get blacklisted again. This is all despite having dmarc, spf, dkim email verification setup.

I host several sites, and they all have an email form that needs to use an outgoing mail server.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a 3rd party that is cheap, as the mail traffic on all of my sites is very low

Thanks.

Hello, @xar86413

In first place I will recommend you to check why the droplet IP was blacklisted in first place. Have you asked for any justification of the blacklist from the third party?

I will recommend you to check the score of your outgoing emails using this website:

https://www.mail-tester.com/

You can send an email to it and then it will check the score of the email. Please make sure to send a valid test email - the emails must include full body message, signatures, attachments and subject.

Also please make sure that your mail list is fully OPTED-IN.
