Problem with filenames migrating uploads Wordpress folder

Posted on July 12, 2013

I am migrating a WordPress site, and I have a trouble with the filenames of the /uploads/ folder, when contains characters like á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ, etc.

The database is OK, but when I browse (ls) the folder that content the file, I have different results between old and new server.

Old server filename: m??s-ganancias-en-Android-que-en-iOS-news.jpg database: m%C3%A1s-ganancias-en-Android-que-en-iOS-news.jpg

DigitalOcean filename: m#U00e1s-ganancias-en-Android-que-en-iOS-news.jpg database: m%C3%A1s-ganancias-en-Android-que-en-iOS-news.jpg

In order to migrate, I zip the entire folder in old server, then “wget” from the new one, and finally “unzip”.
