Problems with network in AMS2 region

Hi everybody!

I can’t connect to any host outside my local IPs from my AMS2 droplet. Am I the only one or there’s someone else here who’s struggling with the same issue?

It bothers me because I can’t do any development work while this problem is present and also my hosted apps can’t call any external APIs. The despair even forced me to reboot my VPS but it produced no results.

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble. There are some steps you can take to begin troubleshooting an issue of this nature.

  • If you are unable to access your droplet via ssh, try using the web console in the control panel. This is not affected by the services running within your droplet but is provided by the hypervisor running it. Your droplet sees this console as it’s local keyboard and display.

  • From the console run ifconfig and check that each of your network interfaces is listed and shows the same details that are shown at the bottom of the console screen (IP, gateway, etc)

  • Attempt a reboot (which you have already done)

  • Open a ticket with our support team. They can take a closer look, ensure there is no network or hypervisor level problem and provide additional troubleshooting steps.
