Question

Set my droplet to be a subdomain of a domain hosted on a different server

I want my droplet to be myapp.somedomain.com. Where subdomain.com is hosted on a different service.

Is there anything I need to do on my droplets end?

Or is it really as easy as pointing a DNS ‘A’ entry to my IP address?

Thanks,

Hello Maynard, What you need to do is go to the DNS manager(where ever it is) and add an A record. Point it to the IP address of your (myapp) server. Just like you described up there in your question but give it some time to take effect( people say 24 to 48 hours) but it usually happens faster in my experience. That should resolve the issue.
