Question

Set up email accounts with my domain

 • Posted August 9, 2013

How do I setup an email account with the domain that I own? I have absolutely no idea, I would like to know the easiest way, and I don’t mind if I can send e-mail via Gmail for example. I have the domain pointed to my server IP, what else do I need to do?

It’s because the SSL certificate is self-signed. If you want to get rid of that warning, you will have to purchase a certificate from a trusted CA such as Comodo.

Well it says it is encrypted, however when anyone tries to login it shows a red error page saying to proceed with caution, because the identity of the server isn’t verified

@212nath: What’s the error?

I had a go at installing iRedMail, and everything works great. The only thing is that there’s a SSL error, and I can’t figure out how to do that properly

The “easiest way” would probably be outsourcing your e-mail to a 3rd-party provider, e.g. Google Apps ($5/mo.) or Exchange Online ($4/mo.).

If you’re interested in managing your own e-mail server, you could try this: How To Install iRedMail On Ubuntu 12.04 x64.
