Setting up 2 factor authentication on my server

Posted on March 28, 2014

I followed this guide:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-protect-ssh-with-two-factor-authentication

Unfortunately it does not ask me for verification code when I log in through SSH. It asks me when I try to run command with sudo, or if i try to log in with KVN in the digitaloceans panel.

What could be wrong?

Did you run the ‘google-authenticator’ command as the root user, as well as the particular user you use?

Hey. I am after redoing the whole thing. This time I set up as root user and as my ordinary user. Still the same though! If I log in with ssh, still does not ask me for verification code.
