Question

So could you open the ssh port?

Posted January 27, 2015 3.4k views

I am an admin of the VPS that has 198.211.125.185 ip address.
Today I connected it via ssh and enabled the firewall. Unfortunately I forgot to open ssh port. After closing the ssh connection I can’t reconnect to my VPS.

Hello, @dnanzadragchaa!

You can unlock the SSH port yourself!
Simply select your Droplet from from your Control Panel’s Droplet list, then AccessConsole Access.
It’ll start a VNC connection to your server, and your firewall will not block it.

Have a nice day,
Alfio.

  • I disabled all the ports in the firewall except 80. I tried your way but it says “Failed to establish a connection to the console. Please reload”

Is there any chance for me to be saved from this?

  • Reload the page and try to access the console again. If that doesn’t work, please open a support ticket so the team can look into why the console isn’t loading.
