Question

SSL certificate for subdomains(All subdomains)

We have a web solution where we would be creating subdomains at runtime. abc.domain.com def.domain.com etc… Now We have the SSL certificate installed for domain.com, I want to ask how do we ensure that same certificate works for all subdomains as well that will be created in future dynamically.

We have a LAMP solution deployed on a droplet in DO. Kindly advise and help!!!

Hi @VineetBhargava,

Well, there is one pretty easy and cool way and that is using certbot. Certbot provides you with Let’s Encrypt certificates which are free.

It’s easy to setup and configure as well, check the article @Bobby Iliev has posted and you’ll see the whole process. If you do have questions do let me know please.

Hello,

This can be achieved using a wildcard SSL certificate.

You can use Let’s Encrypt along with certbot to get a free certificate.

Here is a step by step guide on how to do that:

Hope that this helps!

Best,
