Question

Suggestions: alert policies within managed databases that match the metrics offered

DigitalOcean Managed PostgreSQL Database

I’m using a PostgreSQL managed database. (I assume this is applicable to all of the managed databases, MySQL and Redis, too.)

The Manage alert policies option on the Insights tab allows to create/edit alerts… but the metrics available in the dropdown to select a trigger condition are the metrics tracked for standard droplets:

  • CPU
  • memory utilization
  • disk utilization
  • 15 minute load average

not those for the managed databases:

  • connections
  • cache hit ratio
  • index vs sequential scans
  • throughput
  • deadlock rate
  • replication status/delay

It would be very useful to have alerts for the managed databases!

Hey @BrianIbbotson,

Great idea, sounds like it’d be super useful!

The best thing to do to get your voice heard regarding this would be to head over to our Product Ideas board and post a new idea, including as much information as possible for what you’d like to see implemented.

Hope that helps!
