Unable to access email

Posted on December 22, 2013

Just set up an email system using Postfix, Dovecot and MySQL. That part seems ok. The only part I’m having problems with, is accessing email using a desktop email client or by webmail.

I can log into the server and send email from the command line. I can even see that emails are being received.

Obviously something’s not right, but I have no idea why. There’s nothing in the logs that tell me anything.

Any clues?

Just set up an email system using Postfix, Dovecot and MySQL.

Did you follow a particular article on setting up an email server?

I can even see that emails are being received.

How can you see that they are being received?

Log in to the server and navigate to the email accounts folders

Do you mean
/var/spool/mail
? If so, it means that Postfix is not using Postgres, therefore there must be something wrong with your config.
