website down after changed the nameserver

Hello Community,

I am a small time blogger without much technical or coding knowledge. I have a wordpress site and recently changed it from cloudflare to digitalocean.

My website down after yesterday I have changed the nameserver from CloudFlare to DigitalOcean. While contacting digitalocean support they have said that everything is ok but it seems my site is down and I am encountering this error ‘DNSPROBEFINISHED_NXDOMAIN’

The complete timeframe from the issue occurred is here as under:

Yesterday we have changed our nameserver from 'Cloudflare’ to 'DigitalOcean’. Once we have changed the Nameservers our site went down

Well, sometime our site goes live on mobile, desktop and laptop then down there too, and sometime it goes live on chrome and mozilla and sometime it went down while tried to access through chrome. It means there are multiple discrepancies, it goes live and down.

Kindly please help to find a proper resolution.

Hi there @dzone4221,

You would need to make sure that you’ve done the following:

  • Add your Domain name to your DigitalOcean account as per the instructions here:

  • Then you need to add two DNS records:

    • A record for your main domain name to point to your server IP address
    • CNAME record for your www version to point to your main domain name

After that it could take up to a couple of hours for the DNS changes to propagate over the Globe before you could see the changes.

You can use this tool here to check your current active DNS records:

Let me know how it goes. Regards, Bobby
