Website uploads from dreamweaver. When in dreamweaver cs6 I am trying to connect to the SFTP. I put root as user and the root pw generated and it wont connect. would love to hear some feedback

I hear ya! However, it would be good to test your login from another application to find out if this is a DreamWeaver issue, or a problem with the login username and password.
FireFTP, Putty, NotePad+++ are all free and can use SFTP connections…
Also, as a suggestion: it is bad practice to use “root” to login. You will want to create another user account for managing your websites and such.
