I find the marketplace for 1-click apps an invaluable source for rapidly spinning environments for my projects. I use the LEMP one quite frequently (https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/lemp) as not only does it take care of the whole stack but it also includes the SSL generation for my domains. Used to do all this manually, but this just makes it so easy.
Curious to know if there will be an update to this to swap out PHP 7.4 for PHP 8. Mainly because PHP 7.4 will be end of life by the end of the year.

Hi there @alexmtaylor,
As far as I can see this image is supported by DigitalOcean so it will most likely be updated before the EOL.
As of the time being PHP 7.4 is still the default package for Ubuntu 20.04. I believe that what would most likely happen is that the Ubuntu version will also be updated along with the PHP version to the latest stable one.
Regards, Bobby
