Wordpress upload errors

I changed php.ini to 64mb but I am having issues when upload media or import data via wordpress dashboard tools>import. I am getting the following errors.

“download.jpeg” has failed to upload due to an error The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2014/01

Did you restart Apache after modifying php.ini?

I am completed php.ini to 64 mb. Coming from a shared enivorment so some of this is new to me. Please explain or link to ways to resolve your other suggestions. <br> <br>thanks

It could be a few things. <br> <br>Did you change: <br> <br>max_post_size to 64mb <br> <br>check your permissions to be sure that www-data or whatever apache/nginx runs under owns the files in the directory <br> <br>make sure that wp-content/uploads is writeable
