Question

Adding a MySQL standby node using Terraform

Good day. We are using MySQL Cloud and deployed the infrastructure through Terraform. Now we want to add a standby node. I couldn’t find any documentation on how to add a MySQL standby node. Is it possible to do it through Terraform?

Hi there,

I believe that you just need to specify the node_count parameter:

resource "digitalocean_database_cluster" "mysql-example" {
  name       = "example-mysql-cluster"
  engine     = "mysql"
  version    = "8"
  size       = "db-s-1vcpu-1gb"
  region     = "nyc1"
  node_count = 2
}

This is basically the number of nodes that will be included in the cluster.

Hope that this helps!

Best,

Bobby
