Analogous solution for Centos 7?

Posted on January 9, 2022

I usually follow guides meant for Ubunto or Debian for my Centos 7 machine.

I’m working on cloning my physical centos 7 server and brining it into a Digital Ocean droplet. However, Centos does not allow to run the package configuration command. Is there a similar walkthrough for Centos 7? Thank you very much!

Hello, @andersonRay

You can check our tutorial on the Initial Server Setup with CentOS 7 and the Additional Recommended Steps for New CentOS 7 Servers

If your current CentOS server has additional software and configuration you can work on that on the new CentOS droplet and then migrate your data.

You can use yum to install new packages if this is required too.

Hope that this helps! Regards, Alex
