I can select “app platform” as a trusted source in my managed database settings, but my app can’t connect to the database once I do so. Even though it’s attached as a component to the app.
Am I overlooking something? It seems we’re one step further from https://www.digitalocean.com/community/questions/app-platform-bug-cant-set-as-a-trusted-source-for-database-cluster - I can now select the option “app platform”, any insights when this function will work?
Do I really have to have my db open to the world to be able connect to it from app platform?

Hi all,
This has been implemented and can be achieved by following the steps here:

Hope that this helps! Regards, Bobby
I am really disappointed to see no trusted sources for MongoDB after 5 months of release from Trusted Sources.
Hello,
Currently, App Platform does not support VPC. All connections from apps to other services running in DigitalOcean occur over the public network.
Yes, we have this in our roadmap and as of now, connections needs to be over public network.
