Question

Cannot access my app on port non-standard (on a dropplet)

Hello, I wanted to know if this was normal or not. I have a nginx server on port 64297 and can’t access it from my computer navigator. I can access apps on port 80 or 443 wihtout any problem. I did all the networking rules, and I’m sure it works since I can access it from another droplet in the same private network. Does anyone already experienced this or have an idea on how to solve it ? (I can’t change port 64297, all the standard port are already taken). I can provide further informations if needed.

Heya,

The Firewall configuration seems fine, you can also try to connect from another device as this might be an connectivity issue from your local machine itself.

Also you can examine the Nginx error logs for any additional information:

  1. sudo tail -f /var/log/nginx/error.log

Regards

is the public firewall configured for that port?

Heya @e8a683043f184a208dde326b6d37ff,

Ensure that you have allowed the port on your firewall for external use.

Additionally, make sure Nginx is actually listening on that port and you can see it working. You can use:

nestat -tulpen | grep nginx
