Cannot SSH Tunnel with Putty anymore?!

Posted on February 5, 2014

Am at a lost here and I don’t have any idea on how to fix this. Am running Ubuntu 12.04.3 x64.

I made a new user “prox” and I gave prox permissions (I forgot what permissions) I would login to my VPS using that user name and password with PuTTY a window would open and I would set FireFox to run with it.

Now here is the problem I am having when I log into my VPS with the prox user I automatically get “Discounted By Remote User” Or the PuTTY window would just self close.

SSH > Tunnels Forwarded Ports: D8080 Destructible: Dynamic Auto

Does are the settings I had before and it worked fine! I just don’t understand why its not working anymore am at a lost :(

when you say SSH that means you made an RSA keys and connected it to the user!!!

if not, then I guess you need to login by root and modify the user permissions. you need to grant the user some permissions to some folders as well.

I hope you didn’t disable root login yet!!
