As im beginning to set up my first ubuntu server, i was following some basic tips from https://www.snel.com/support/initial-server-setup-ubuntu-16-04/ but when i try to connect through ssh i cant type the symbol @, ive tried to reconfigure the keyboard and with an identical set up on oracle vm i can type @ with altgr+2 but not here

What type of terminal are you using or are you on a windows machine? If you are on a Window’s machine you can use a tool like Putty to connect to your droplet.
If you are on a Unix one, you should be able to install any terminal like gnome, guake and many others.
