Contact form on a static html page

Posted on August 29, 2017

I have a contact form on my website that sends me a notification when someone submits a message. However this form doesn’t work because of the smtp block on my account (new users have to wait 60 days apparently)

I’ve emailed the account safety Team explaining my situation but they insist I have to wait the 60 days. So I’m wondering if there is any other way I can set up the contact form to notify me when someone leaves a message on my website?

If it helps, I use g suite for email on my domain.

I’m not looking to set up a full blown mail server. The emails will only be going to my email address which is hosted with g suites as mentioned above.

Apologies if the answer seems trivial, but this is my first time trying out an unmanaged vps service. I’ve always used shared hosting plans with cPanel in the past.

I’m facing the same problem, but I have a forum, which needs to send approval and notification emails to admins and members. It’s not a simple form that I can replace with a hosted solution.

Can we at least use G Suite SMTP (smtp.gmail.com) for sending out emails? It would require opening up port 465.

Rather than wait the 60 days, I ended up moving to Vultr. They too have a similar policy but they were able to lift the block from the get go. Also their $5 entry plan gives double the ram that digital ocean offers. But to be fair digital ocean’s support and documentation is way way better which is why I’ll be returning if they agree to left the ban. Talking of which, my 60 day waiting period is up. Wish me luck :)

I would use a hosted solution like wufoo.com until the SMTP block has been lifted.
