Hello all, how is the following scenario handled by Digital Ocean?
I own the domain Wooples.co.uk and I change the nameservers to Digital Ocean. I add a Domain record for Wooples.co.uk in the DO DNS manager. Someone else aIso adds a Domain record for Wooples.co.uk in their DO DNS manager.
Which DNS records would get served?
Cheers!

This would not be possible. Once you created a record for Wooples.co.uk in our system, nobody else would be able to. A domain can only exist in our system once.
We do not currently do verification of a domain when it is added as it would not be possible to use this maliciously unless you happened to know when someone changed their nameservers and could add the record between their doing that and creating records (you would want to create the records before changing the DNS servers anyway otherwise there would be downtime).
I have been with DO for 3 years and to the best of my knowledge this situation has only come up once when a user moved their site away from their developer’s account. It was resolved quickly by our support team simply by verifying ownership of the domain. Since issues around this are so extremely rare it makes more sense to handle any that occur on a personal and individual basis.
Brilliant thank you, that answers where I was going with this. A client would like their own account to manage their server / domain (which I currently manage) which got me thinking about an overlap where two accounts would try to have DNS records for the same domain.
Cheers Ryan
