Digital Ocean IP range blocked by Spamhaus PBL. Anyone has any contacts?

Posted on August 14, 2017

As you can see here (https://www.spamhaus.org/pbl/query/PBL1669837) the range 159.203.240.0/24 is listed on the Policy Block List (PBL) by Spamhaus which is meant to indicate that this range belongs to end-user/dial-up/cable/etc customers and is probably not meant to send emails.

However that range most definitely belongs to Digital Ocean (in fact the whole 159.203.0.0/16 does - see http://whois.domaintools.com/159.203.240.0) and has proper reverse DNS set up (as do all hosts in DO).

Does anyone have any technical contacts at Spamhaus? I guess this listing is due to some technical issue on their end, however I can’t get in touch with them (they are notoriously hard to get in touch with) and the only option I see on their site is to “remove one IP” - but I would like to tell them that the entire range is erroneously listed.

Cheers.

same problem here! https://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/query/SBL368922

Spamhous blocked all the IP range of digital ocean.

Spamhaus is not a blacklisting service therefore digitalocean is not blocked. I got a snippet of what was on their site after some researching: PBL listings do not prevent you sending email unless your email program is not authenticating properly when it connects to your ISP or to your company’s mail server. This can happen if you have changed something in your email program’s settings, forgotten to turn on ‘SMTP Authentication’ or if you have switched ‘SMTP Authentication’ off by mistake.
