Does DigitalOcean have any IOPS limits per droplet? Automated or manual (abuse team)? Maybe different IOPS limits on different droplets?
There should be some rules about that, since it’s a VPS provider. So would be good to know, when exactly a droplet would be blocked, on which IOPS value?
If REALLY droplet’s IOPS would reach as high as 50k-60k (or even higher, like 90k), and would remain there constantly, what will happen then? (Fully legitimate use, nothing illegal, nothing bad, nothing forbidden, just a normal good website becoming steadily popular).

I am sure there is, but I am not sure what it is. All I can tell you is the disks are fast :) DigitalOcean gives you a fair share of the physical node’s resources. Just don’t abuse them as you are not allowed to “… [employ] programs that consume excessive network capacity, CPU cycles, or disk IO” (ToS 12.1).

Obviously for max performance in AWS you need to have provisioned IOPS which comes at a cost (the above test results was general SSD). Digital Ocean I imagine give you greater IOPS because it’s easier to setup the SSD based on the VPS plan you’ve chosen. AWS is 100% customisable.
If they don’t announce an upper limit then it probably means you’ve got dedicated SSDs with your VPS plan and you’re free to “abuse” it as much as you like because it’s not affecting anyone else.
