Hello DigitalOcean!
Loving the Managed Postgres service and its Postgis support. One issue we’ve encountered, though, is Postgis is not compiled with libprotobuf-c
. This library is necessary to serve vector tiles directly from Postgres, an awesome new feature added in Postgis 2.4 (https://postgis.net/docs/manual-dev/ST_AsMVT.html).
Is there any way to have this added soon?
Currently, Managed Postgres 11.2 returns ERROR: Missing libprotobuf-c
when the query uses an MVT function.

Hey friend,
While I cannot make any promises myself, I have ensured that this feedback has been reviewed by the relevant internal team :)

Any updates on this? I’m going to have to cancel migrating to managed postgres because of this :(
I really need this as well! Seems like an easy fix
any estimate on this? i didnt knew this was not working until i recently started testing in staging, at this point the easiest solution is to stop using managed databases from what i can see
It’s stopping us from moving 400GB db to the Digital Ocean. Anyone else interested in this to be done?
Any movement on this? We really need this. Please just install the extension.
