Hi,

I configured a Cluster DNS with:

dns1.mydomain.com -> Slave 1
dns2.mydomain.com -> Slave 2
dns3.mydomain.com -> Slave 3

I added this DNS to a domain and work correctly when try to load her web.

But when I use the tool “zonemaster.net/domain_check”, I received the next errors:

DELEGATION ERROR Parent has nameserver(s) not listed at the child (dns1.mydomain.net; dns2.mydomain.net; dns3.mydomain.net).
DELEGATION NOTICE Child has nameserver(s) not listed at parent (dns1.mydomain.com; dns2.mydomain.com; dns3.mydomain.com).
DELEGATION ERROR None of the nameservers listed at the parent are listed at the child.

Why happens?, how can I solve him?.

I’m using CentOS with WHM/cPanel in a web server, and CentOS with cPanel DNSOnly in Cluster DNS servers (slaves).

Thank you very much!

Hi there @computereleon,

I believe that you have to add Glue records for your nameservers via your Domain name registrar in order to get that fixed.

Bobby

  • Hi,

    Yes, I have Glue record. I did some changes, this is the current error listed in “zonemaster.net/domain_check”:

    DELEGATION ERROR Child does not list enough (0) nameservers (). Lower limit set to 2.
    DELEGATION WARNING Child lists no nameserver that resolves to an IPv4 address. If any were present, the minimum allowed would be 2.
    DELEGATION ERROR Parent has nameserver(s) not listed at the child (dns1.domain.net; dns2.domain.net; dns3.domain.net).
    DELEGATION ERROR None of the nameservers listed at the parent are listed at the child.

    Thank you very much. Have a nice day.

    • Hi there @computereleon,

      Make sure to add A records for those subdomains to point to the respective IP addresses of your Droplets. I believe that this should fix the new warning that you are seeing.

      Regards,
      Bobby

      • Thank you very much.

        I have the A records:

        dns1.domain.net 14400 IN A IP-SLAVE-1 (of Cluster DNS)
        dns2.domain.net 14400 IN A IP-SLAVE-2 (of Cluster DNS)
        dns3.domain.net 14400 IN A IP-SLAVE-3 (of Cluster DNS)

        Maybe I need create NS records?, Can you tell me example please?.

        Thank you very much. Have a nice day.
