Thanks!

Yes Absolutely,
Rather than building complete SMTP server, we have used Digital Ocean superfast SSD server and Amazon SES to send a Million mails few week back at cost of $100 only!
I have made this complete guide on how to here: http://www.tech-tweak.com/
Let me know if you want to have same configuration. I would be happy to help you out.
Where do I get things like port number, server name that I need to connect to Amazon SES?
>> from Amazon
By the way, what is the email sending limitations on Digitalocean hosting?
>> That’s pretty clear in the Digital Ocean TOS/EULA: no spam, don’t do anything that results in blacklisting.
We use SES from our Droplets, no problem. If you just need to send emails, SES offers SMTP connection which makes integration super easy.
“Where do I get things like port number, server name…”

You set these yourself.

“By the way, what is the email sending limitations on Digitalocean hosting?”

You cannot send SPAM.
Sorry for this dummy question because I am new on such matters. How should I make it work? Where do I get things like port number, server name that I need to connect to Amazon SES?
By the way, what is the email sending limitations on Digitalocean hosting?

Thanks.
