The control panel rejects hostname ‘.’ for MX records, so it seems like Digital Ocean does not support null mx records. Is there another way I can create them (eg, using the API or somewhere I didn’t find in the control panel)?
A null MX record is the documented method of indicating that a domain does not accept email: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc7505

Hi @johnbartholomew,
I don’t think that is being used anymore or if there is any way on the Platform/Control Panel to be created, even using API. What you can do is create an MX record which leads to nowhere.
