Does the server needs to active to server apps built with node-corn or similar libraries?

Hello, I was looking through the node-corn tutorial, and my project has a similar use case, I just wanted to know that whether my server should be running 24/7 to server these type of automation apps that uses similar library or concepts such as node-corn, or can I use a serverless function that servers only when there’s a request.

Hi there,

It really depends on the specific implementation that you want to have. If you are running the cron jobs on the same server as your main app, then you could leave the server running as normal.

If you only need to execute the job one time and do a specific action, then in this case you could shut down the server.
