Droplet resolving with IP but not with Domain name

Good day,

I have created a Droplet and installed Openlite WP and everything is working but as I have the domain registered on Google Domains & setup there using Google nameservers the best I have been able to do is to get the site to showup by inputting the domain name but it always ends up resolving to the IP address. So if I input it will show the WP site but as an IP address. (

So I have 2 problems actually: 1- get the website to show up as a url when I input the domain (not as an IP when I input the domain) 2- attach a Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate the the domain hosted on Digital Ocean.

Seems that I have to leave the domain using Google nameservers as I am also using email forwarding from to my gmail account and it doesn’t work if the nameservers are not set to Google.

Thanks for your help Marco

I guess you finished the wordpress installation from browser first with http://SERVER_IP. You can try to visit the wp-admin > Settings > General, and update both WordPress Address and Site Address from IP to the real domain.

About LE cert, if you set up with the prompt script from SSH console, it will auto apply and setup the LE cert for you automatically.

Let us know if issue still.

Best, Eric
