Error 404 accessing domain, over IP works

I created a droplet with WordPress LiteSpeed to migrate my current site that is in another hosting.

My site is “”

I changed Domain DNS to Digital Ocean and created 2 new A records:

@” to “
www” to “

Accessing my site with the domain happens the error 404. Accessing through IP is all right.

I did not make any changes, it’s a clean installation.
Has anyone ever had anything like this?

  • I am reaching without issue (Ola Mundo). However, it resolves to, not the IP that you listed. Accessing that IP directly also works, but the IP which you listed ( does not.

Maybe you were just waiting on DNS propogation? And maybe also you’ve got a couple of droplets mixed up?

  • Hello NiloCK.

I destroyed that Droplet. I created a new one without LiteSpeed which is on the IP

The error remains, works on IP but not on the address:

However, this time the error that occurs is TIME OUT and not 404

My domain is with the Digital Ocean DNS and I set up the @ and WWW records by directing to IP

I really have no idea what that might be.

  • Now are working! Thanks!
    HTTP(S) & CACHE grrr

Have you found an update to this problem? I have the exact same thing happening to me now.

  • Hey, Jonathan.

The error that happened was of HTTPS. I did not have SSL installed but was configured to redirect to HTTPS, so I accessed with HTTP and not HTTPS.

Then I even changed the WordPress address in settings. It was the IP, I changed it to the domain.

Check the connection to the database and see http / https version. Is it also possible that the file is htcss?

The solution worked for me thanks to the community and the members for the solution.
