NginxUbuntu 16.04

Hi guys,

I’m not sure why but currently my site is not accessible anymore,

Failed to connect to kelvinzhao.com port 443: Operation timed out

It used to be working fine.

I’m not too sure what I did, or what happened, but these are the stuff that I was trying out before this happened.

  1. Followed the instructions on https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-optimize-nginx-configuration?comment=20380 to optimise site.
  2. Update/upgrade ubuntu and rebooted.

I’ve checked the error logs but don’t see anything there.
Did a sudo nginx -t and found no errors too.
Not sure how else to find what is the error/problem causing this… =(

Hello,

There are a few things that you could do to gather some more information:

  • Check your Nginx error log:
tail -100 /var/log/nginx/error.log
  • Check if Nginx is actually listening on port 443:
netstat -plant | grep 443

If Nginx is not listening on port 443, then you need to check your server block and ensure that you’ve actually have an entry for port 443.

Bobby
