Hi. I have a few Wordpress based websites that get traffic of about 10,000 visitors a day. Most pages are cached using Wordpress plugins like Hyper Cache, so not a whole lot of MySQL access is needed.
Right now they all sit on a dedicated server with RAID 1 SATA hard disks, 4GB of RAM, CentOS 64bit, and running an Apache/Nginx system. All these sites are running off this one server, but are “shared hosting” all by me. The web console is WHM/Cpanel as usual.
This whole “droplet” stuff has me confused. How much will it cost to get hosting for these sites separately? Will I get full access to my MySQL etc? What will be my WHM or Cpanel equivalent?
Thanks!

A droplet is a virtual private server. You are not sharing it with anyone. (You’re actually sharing hardware - there are a bunch of droplets running on a single piece of hardware.) You configure it to your liking, and you maintain it. You get access to whatever you install on it. If you want a control panel, you install it. There are several options. I’m using Virtualmin on one droplet acting as a mail server and running Apache, and no control panel on another droplet running Nginx and MySQL.
