Question

Getting "You are not authorized to perform this operation" on droplet graph.

As i was setting up my firewall, my droplet graph suddenly couldn’t be loaded anymore and my droplet console just shows a blank screen. I reset my DigitalOcean firewall to default (SSH - Port 22 - All IP4 All IP6) and double checked that my UFW is set to “Status: inactive”. Then i rebooted my droplet. Still didnt help. Next i created a new fresh droplet with all settings default, no firewall connected at all, and the graph view still shows the error. Would could be wrong here?

Hi there,

If you’re unable to access your Droplet’s console or its graph is not loading, you can use the DigitalOcean Recovery Console to troubleshoot directly. The Recovery Console provides a way to interact with your Droplet without relying on network connectivity or SSH.

Follow this guide: How to Use the Recovery Console.

  • Log in to the DigitalOcean Control Panel.
  • Navigate to your droplet, and click Access > Recovery Console.
  • Use the console to check system logs (/var/log) and verify that your droplet is running properly.

Even though you reset your DigitalOcean firewall to default and disabled UFW, double-check that no unexpected rules are blocking traffic:

  • Use the recovery console to run:

    sudo ufw status

  • Also make sure that there are no active rules blocking required ports or connections.

There was also an incident that might have been related but it has been already resolved:

If the issue persists for you, you could reach out to the DigitalOcean support team for further investigation:

Heya,

In cases like that always check incidents to see if there is something that can be the cause of this. AS mentioned there was one at the time:

As for the graph disappearing, has it started working now?

Heya, @saferugdev

As mentioned this was likely due to an ongoing incident or maintenance. Also sometimes when the graph is not loading you can try to clear your browser cache or use incognito mode.

Additionally you can try to Disable browser extensions that may block certain elements (e.g., ad blockers or privacy tools). Try accessing the DigitalOcean dashboard from a different device or network.
