DNS

Hello,

I have a Droplet A that host the main domain (domain.com).
I want to create a subdomain (test.domain.com) that will point to Droplet B that is different from Droblet A.

I created an A Record for that:

Hostname: test. / value: Droplet B

**PS:

  • When I used the Droplet B IP@ in the URL, that redirect me as well.
  • When I use the subdomain hostname that I already create (A record) that will not redirect me to the Droplet B !!**

Any suggestions for that behavior !!

Thank you!

Hi @zoompress2009,

You’ll need to update your domain’s DNS to create a subdomain. I can see from your question you’ve done it. Having said that, let me go over it just in case.

To create a subdomain, you need to update your domain’s DNS. This can be achieved from where your Nameservers are. In there create an A record with the name for your subdomain pointing to your Droplet B. If that’s what you’ve done and you are still experiencing the issue, can you paste the domain so that I can do some checks and see what the DNS shows?

  • Hello @KFSys;
yes that what I did, I already updated my DNS ( in digital ocean nameservers).

    my domain name is: lakkini.com
the new A record is: goclass.lakkini.com

    • Hi @zoompress2009,

I can see both your domain and subdomains do not load from the same droplet.

Additionally, I can see they are loading different content from my end.

Are you still seeing your subdomain loading your main domain’s website? If yes, can you please use your cmd/terminal on your laptop and ping both of them? Once you do, please provide me with your results.

      • Hello @KFSys,

I can see both your domain and subdomains do not load from the same droplet.

And yes that what I want to do! Droplet A for the domain and Droplet B for the Subdomains! not the same one.

Additionally, I can see they are loading different content from my end.

Of course, they will not load the same content! the domain will load the main website and the subdomains I want it to load another content from another droplet!

Any response on that ??!!

Any suggestions !!
