My eJabberd server does not support an OTR connection with a Pidgin client. In response to OTR connection request, it replies “… has requested an Off-the-Record private conversation. However, you do not have a plugin to support that.” How can I enable OTR in eJabberd server?

As I understand it, OTR is completely done client side by encrypting the messages before they pass through the server. Pidgin requires a plugin for OTR which can be found on the plugins page. From the little bit of research I’ve done, you should not need to do anything on the server side to support OTR with ejabberd.
