How can I find the root of the problem? I CAN access my WP site via VPN but not via regular IP

I have Wordpress running on a LAMP stack and have been able to access the site. I was able to access my WP site earlier today, but then I just lost access. When I use a VPN, I’m able to access the site but when I just use my regular IP address, I can’t get into my site.

Any ideas?

That’s usually a DNS issue. Try checking the domain for resolvability. Here are some websites/commands to run from those different locations:

dig domain.tld +trace
nslookup domain.tld
