How can I use a droplet with a VPN router? Linksys3200ACM

Posted on December 14, 2019

I have a linksys 3200ACM VPN router. I’m not as network savvy as most people on here. I’d like to automatically connect the router to the droplet, so I don’t need to use outline on individual devices and use a android TV box. Can anyone help please?

Heya,

Just came across this answer and decided to write some general guidelines for anyone who comes across this in the future despite the old question.

Here’s an outline of what you will need to do:

  1. Create a DigitalOcean Droplet with your preferred VPN software installed. You can use OpenVPN, WireGuard, or another VPN software that is compatible with your router.
  2. Configure the VPN software on the Droplet following the documentation and guidelines provided by the VPN software.
  3. Log in to your Linksys 3200ACM router’s administration panel and navigate to the VPN settings menu.
  4. Enter the required information to connect your router to your DigitalOcean VPN Droplet, including the Droplet’s IP address, VPN protocol, and any relevant authentication or encryption details.
  5. Save your settings and check the connection status on your router. If everything is configured correctly, it should automatically connect to your DigitalOcean VPN Droplet.

For more information, you can refer to the VPN software’s documentation and the DigitalOcean Docs for additional help with setting up a Droplet.

Hope that this helps!
