how can other people access my ubuntu 14.04 server

its because I’m using virtual box and mounted 14.04 ubuntu. i’ve made a online game private server. is there a way other people can ping my ubuntu eth0 or my hostname such as 192.168.x.x?? to play and connect to my private server? please help. what pkg. do i need to install.

It sounds like you are referring to a virtual machine running on your local computer rather than a droplet on DigitalOcean. With that in mind you should look into port forwarding on your router/modem.

Actually, you dont upload the entire Vbox data rather, yes if you choose to host if here, you create a similar specs (software) VPS and upload the user data of your local system here and go online with professional grade network and hardware…

ahmm sir thanks for the reply but not the local computer i’m reffering to another user like another people like anybody. xD sorry for my mistake. i’ve install php,mysql, when i search this question openvpn,vnc,vpn shows up. do i really need to install it?
