Question

How can we use the DO Web Console with a non-standard SSH port?

The title says it all really :)

We set up our droplets with a non-standard SSH port number (just to obfuscate access and cut down the number of bot login attempts).

There doesn’t seem to be an option anywhere though to tell DO Web Console not to use 22 - anyone know if it’s possible to change this?

Not a critical one, but the Web Console is occasionally useful if somebody screws up a firewall setting or whatever, so would prefer to have it than not!

Heya, @ntp

I believe you can’t change the port number used by the Web Console, because it doesn’t use a port-based protocol like SSH at all.

The console of your droplet is the virtual server equivalent of being directly attached to the server’s physical keyboard and monitor ports - it is not an SSH interface.
